Dragon Cement and Concrete Sales Rep Awarded
“Representative of the Year” by Cement Trade Group.
Brian Barry, a sales representative with Dragon
Cement and Concrete, recently won the "Program
Representative of the Year" award from the
Northeast Cement Shippers Association for his work
on the association’s College & University Program.
The organization’s College & University Program
works with educational institutions to provide
technical resources and educational outreach to
students and teachers. Patrick W. Reardon, Jr.,
the Executive Director of the Association,
described Mr. Barry’s efforts as “exemplary” and
cited his use of industry-wide resources as
enhancing the program’s activity. With this award,
he will also be nominated for the Portland Cement
Association’s 2004 Promotion Progress Award.
Mr. Barry has 21 years in the cement and concrete
industry. He joined Dragon in 2002 and serves
customers in Maine, New Hampshire and
Massachusetts. He is a member of the Northern New
England Concrete Promotional Association, the
American Concrete Institute and the New Hampshire
Society of Professional Engineers.
Mr. Barry is a resident of Dover, New Hampshire,
and serves on the Advisory Council for Eastern and
Central Maine Community Colleges. Originally from
Somersworth, New Hampshire, he is a 1982 civil
engineering graduate of the University of New
Hampshire.
Headquartered at 38 Preble St. in Portland, Dragon

customers throughout Maine and also to other parts
of New England by barge through Coastal Cement
terminals in Newington, N.H. and Boston. In
addition to being the region’s only cement

The Northeast Cement Shippers Association’s
College & University Program targets four-year
colleges and universities and two-year community
colleges and technical colleges. Its member
company program representatives work with civil
engineering schools, architecture schools,
building construction departments, concrete and
construction technology departments and civil
engineering technology departments at more than
100 schools in 13 Northeast states. Program
representatives help enhance school curriculums
and increase student exposure to cement-based
product applications.
